Who are we?

In 2011, I, Ursula Schipper, founded the Lice Clinic after an endless and frustrating battle against head lice with my daughter and myself. I discovered that existing remedies hardly work on nits and only have a chance of success in very early infestations—while head lice are very good at hiding.

When I heard about a professional device from America that guarantees to kill all lice and nits when used correctly, I brought it to the Netherlands first. Successfully. These devices are no longer sold but are only loaned to American franchisees. We are among the few parties worldwide who still own them—giving us a unique and strong market position.

Amsterdam Location (Venlo see below)

My husband and I ran the Amsterdam location ourselves for many years, after which we emigrated to Hungary, and a franchisee took over. Unfortunately, she had to stop due to chronic health problems. Since then, we have been forced to manage the clinic ourselves again—mostly my husband, who travels back and forth. Therefore, we currently only see each other twice a month.

We want to change this as soon as possible. That’s why we are looking for a dedicated franchisee for our Amsterdam location with North Holland as the exclusive region. You will get a 1.5-year exemption from the entry fee, and you will not pay takeover or training costs. You take over a fully equipped and proven successful location—with over 10 years of stable revenue.

During quiet periods, the clinic carries out an average of 40 treatments per month—mainly in the first half of the year. From the summer holidays to Christmas holidays, demand increases significantly, especially around school vacations. A treatment takes an average of 75 minutes, including cleaning. After VAT and franchise fees, you keep approximately €95 per treatment. The only fixed costs are rent and utilities for the practice space, around €650 per month. On top of that, you earn from follow-up appointments, manual treatments (for young children), and the sale of our unique products, which most clients purchase when leaving the clinic.

Venlo Location

For Venlo, we are looking for one or two people to exploit one of the most potential-rich areas in Europe, Southeast Netherlands and the Ruhr region of Germany, with 9 million inhabitants. For comparison: the Amsterdam location covers a region with 3 million inhabitants.
In Venlo or the surrounding area (easily accessible from Germany), the franchisee will set up their own clinic.

The franchisee is responsible for regional awareness but will immediately attract clients via our website, which has been well-known and frequently visited in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany for many years.
As the franchisor, we continuously invest in generating website visitors via search engines and social media, with an extra focus on Germany once we have an active clinic in Venlo.

If we take the Amsterdam clinic as a benchmark for the Venlo region, with three times as many inhabitants, it should be feasible to carry out 100–120+ treatments per month after the startup phase.
A treatment takes an average of 75 minutes, including cleaning. After VAT and franchise fees, you keep approximately €95 per treatment. On top of that, you earn from follow-up appointments, manual treatments (for young children), and the sale of our unique products, which most clients purchase when leaving the clinic.

Your Availability

As a franchisee, you manage your own schedule. You can block free days or time slots in our booking system. It is important that you are available outside school hours—in the evenings, weekends, and school holidays—as these are the busiest times.

Head lice is a panic problem. Clients want help within 1 to 2 days. If you are not available, they usually cancel. Full days are not necessary, but longer unavailability than 1.5 consecutive days is not workable.
You work ‘on call’. That means: you read new appointment notifications immediately and can be in the clinic within an hour.

Amsterdam: You must be available ‘on call’ for at least 28 hours per week.
Venlo: Initially, you must be available ‘on call’ for at least 28 hours per week, but after the startup phase, this is expected to increase to a minimum of 36 hours.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who:

• lives less than 30 minutes from the clinic
• communicates clearly and kindly (speaks German for Venlo)
• works carefully and independently
• follows hygiene and treatment protocols
• handles panicked parents and uncooperative children well
• is not afraid of light physical work and enjoys repetitive but meaningful tasks

This role requires a long-term commitment. This is not a temporary job.
